In the second part of their "Building a Web Application from Scratch" series, PHP Magazine has posted part two of the series - "Implementation".
In the first part of this two-part series we looked at the groundwork before coding a project - drawing up a specification, analysing the task in hand and designing a solution. In this article we'll get down to the real nitty-gritty - putting our plans into practise. We will put a team together, pick our tools, and build the application.
They build on part one, talking further about "assembling the team" of developers around you to work on the project - knowing strengths and waeknesses, talents and experience - before even getting started. He goes through an example of a situation where he was the team lead, citing a few places where, had things been planned a bit better, some of the issues that arose wouldn't have reared their heads.
He continues on with sections talking about "choosing your tools" and the actual art of "code crunching" and things to look out for. And, of course, he rounds it off with a look at that goal of all goals - "staying on track".
