From George Schlossnagle's weblog today, he has a celebratory note about an award that the book he wrote for Sams Publishing has won an award from Linux Journal!

My book, Advanced PHP Programming, just won Best Development Book in the 2005 Linux Journal Editor's Choice Awards. Thanks LJ!

Now that PHP 5.1 is about to roll out, I've been considering a second edition, adding coverage of: PDO, ext/soap, XML handling, enhanced coverage of SPL, building dynamic solutions with PHP and AJAX, and whatever else comes to mind, or gets suggested.

Many congrats to George for this honor! He's joining the ranks of other deserving winners such as the IBM eServer xSeries (best server hardware), the creators of Wordpress (best communication tool), and the Firefox group (best web browser or client).
