Derick Rethans has posted his latest talk from the ApacheCon 2005 conference today over on his talks page - PHP Time Handling.
The talk talks about some of the "problems with time", a mention of Daylight Savings Time, time zone shape, and some of the ways that PHP tries its best to deal with all of these problems.
He starts with a look at PHP4 and some of the current functionality, but then moves into a look at date/time handling in PHP5 - parsing dates/times, working with timezones, and formatting them for output.
