After over a year in development, Davey Shafik announced the immediate development release of his new Cerebral Cortex framework.

Cerebral Cortex is a framework written entirely in PEAR Coding Standard compatible, PHP 5 code (though some of the packages it utilises are not PHP 5 code). Cerebral Cortex is written under E_STRICT and E_ALL error reporting.

Cerebral Cortex offers many great features such as:

• PDO based Database Abstraction
• Program and Content Caching
• SQLite-based Easy Configuration
• Templating with XSL plugins
• SOAP Web Services Integration

The source is available under the GPL and can be found either in the SVN or the Crtx PEAR Package repository.
