Unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere, you've heard all about the podcasting craze that's been going on lately. Seems like everyone and their dogs are creating their own podcasts, sharing their thoughts and feelings about topics with the world for public consumption.

Well, thanks to the efforts of Marcus Whitney, the PHP community is in on this wonderful new front as well with the Pro-PHP Podcast - still a fledgling podcast by some standards, but growing every day. And, to help encourage the growth of the podcast audience and provide yet another resource for the community to get their news from, I'm going to be dropping in to help Marcus out with a few newscasts from time to time.

We're hoping to provide a good (maybe weekly) overview of the news happening in the PHP community, as well as the possibility of some "spotlight" shows on things like AJAX, XML in PHP5, and the like - the stuff that really seems to be on the tip of everyone's tongues.

So, if you haven't gotten a chance to check out the episodes already listed over on the site, be sure to give them a listen - the interview with Wez Furlong is very informative.
