In this pointer from PHP Magazine today, there's mention of the first of a series of articles from them about helping you build a web application from scratch. This article is part one of the series - "Laying the Foundation: Groundwork".
Some Web apps just work. Not necessarily the flashiest or most imposing, but they purr along like a recently serviced car. Others look good from a distance, but on closer inspection they're rusty and prone to crashing. And then you get some that seem like they've been built out of spare parts from the wrecker's yard. In this mini-series, titled "Laying the Foundations", Josh Mostafa looks at how to make sure your Web app passes inspection.
Definitely a good start to the series, steering you away from such pitfals as creeping features, not planning before coding, failing to see the "big picture" of where your app fits, and wrapping it up with some tips for working up a roadmap/plan for your development...
