Via this post on PHP Magazine's site today, we find out that a new release of NuSphere's PHPEd is right around the corner - version 4.

A spanking new release of NuSphere PhpED 4, the Integrated Development Environment, is round the bend. Scheduled for release in the end of June, the new version features a wide range of improvements and new functions.

The most interesting of them are: SFTP, Telnet and SSH support, Improved code completion and code insight functionality, Oracle and MSSQL support, Dynamic layout change, Extended customization abilities, Instant error analysis, PHP 4.3.11 and 5.0.4 support, Shell menu integration, and True Unicode editing.

NuSphere's PHPEd is one of the better IDEs for PHP out there, and, with all of the new features listed above, moves even higher up the food chain for my choice of editors. I'll be interested to see how well the SFTP works as welll as what the "dynamic layout change" and "instant error analysis" are...
