There's a bit of a "mega-release party" going on over on Greg Beaver's blog today - new versions of PEAR, PEAR_PackageFileManager, and the Chiara_PEAR_Server.
As of a few minutes ago, I have finally released the first version of PEAR to support client-side REST-based remote queries. This release also contained bugfixes that allowed me to release PEAR_PackageFileManager 1.6.0a1, the first version to support package.xml 2.0 generation via scripting. In addition, bugfixes in PEAR allowed me to finally release Chiara_PEAR_Server 0.18.0!
All three of these releases are ground-breaking. Each brings PEAR 1.4.0 significantly closer to feature completion. Chiara_PEAR_Server in particular is revolutionary in that it doesn't even support xml-rpc, removing the last real barrier to proposing it as PEAR_Server to pear.php.net channel.
Great job Greg (and all of the others that worked with him) - keep those PEAR improvements coming!
