Adam Trachtenburg's Blog:
PHP vs Java (Take 43)
May 26, 2005 @ 11:05:29

In a (very) brief posting over on Adam Trachtenburg's weblog today, he talks about yet another "PHP versus Java" argument from the JavaDevelopersJournal.com.

In short: PHP programmers write apps; Java programmers write frameworks.

What would you rather do?

The item he points to is pretty short itself, but it seems to be pretty pro-PHP for an article on a Java site: It seems like most of the cool end-user web applications are written in PHP. This is an area in which the Java community is way behind the PHP community. The open source Java community seems to be consumed with the creation of the latest and greatest framework. The author does suggest, though, that he's firmly in the Java camp - but would like to see some of the cool, open source apps come from the Java side of things as well...
