With a "first day roundup" today, Aaron has a new post today, detailing what happened, who it happened with, and how it was.

The turnout was excellent for the Power Workshops. "XML and Web Services with PHP5 and Pear" and "PHP and MySQL best Practices" workshops were full with over 30 attendants in each. "Rapid Application Development in PHP" and "PHP Starter" had over a dozen attendants.

Choosing the workshop to attend was difficult, but I settled down in the XML and Web Services session with Toby and Stephan Schmidt. [...] I moved on to catch the end of Luke Welling and Laura Thompson's "PHP and MySQL best practices" session. The last hour covered features new to MySQL, including nested Select queries, and Stored procedures.

Sounds like things are going really well so far in Amesterdam...
