With the latest part in their Banner Management with phpAdsNew series, DevShed dives deeper into the world of this powerful ad management system.
In this second part, I'll start by explaining the different features of the "publisher" and "advertiser" modules that I had to skip in the first part for lack of space. Next, I'll provide detailed instructions of how to manage the ad banners across multiple websites from a single instance of phpAdsNew. This will be followed by an introduction to "Remote Invocation for JavaScript," which is an interesting technique that allows third-party websites to display banners from your phpAdsNew installation.
With the two new modules ("publisher" and "advertiser") you can add flexibility to the managers of the different campaigns, as well as letting them see how well their ads are doing on your site (without having to run those annoyign reports every time). Be sure to check out the remote calling functionality too - especially useful for those that can't install the full package where their site is hosted.
