In a new posting over on PHPEverywhere today, John has connected two different articles together and made the statement that "PHP is not Python is not Java".

PJE has written two excellent articles Python is not Java and Java is not Python either. Being a busybody, I thought I'd chip in by saying PHP is not Python either.

He makes his case with a few examples including python and java's multipurpose-ness for the general computing world. PHP, however, is not nearly as well suited for many of these tasks and simply falls short. Of course, there are things that PHP excels at that Python/Java couldn't even touch.
