In a new submission from Alex Pagnoni today:
The open source, J2EE like, iConnect PHP architecture is out. It is based on PHP 5 and the Carthag (www.carthag.org) applications platform and features:
- a methodology for architecting PHP applications in a distributed environment under growing load (Internet);
- a set of specifications;
- an enterprise application server, like EJB, called CBM (Carthag Business Modules);
- a web application server, like a servlet engine, that relies on Apache, called IxAS
(Ix Application Server);
- a portlet-like portal server engine, called Ampoliros, that is a completely new
product from the previous Ampoliros web applications platform, and uses the most
powerful templating engine available: PHP itself;
- some other frameworks/tools, like the WUI - Web User Interface.
