The latest edition of PHP Magazine's PHPBarnstormer has been released - Issue #23.

The Barnstormer column is back after a hiatus of one week -- check out the PHP Conference & MySQL ComCon blog to get up to date with the major happening of last week. The latest Issue of Barnstormer carries news that a big step was made towards PHP 5.1 when Wez, Georg, Andi, George, Marcus, Coogle, Ilia, Daniel, Lucas and others met in a virtual meeting to discuss the future of PDO and what needs to be done before its release with PHP 5.1. There is also news about a discussion on why PHP doesn't support fork() under Windows and why __call() was not available for static methods, what the PEAR package maintainers were up to at IPC2k4, a proposal for an addition to HTML_Quickforms, a proposal for Net_DNSBL, the status of PEAR 1.4, an upate on the status of the PECL package of libssh, and much more. There is also a list of the latest PEAR and PECL releases.

PEAR and PECL packages released this week include: I18Nv2-0.9.1 (alpha), XML_Serializer-0.12.0 (beta), Services_Ebay-0.6.1 (devel), xdiff-1.2 (stable), and tk-0.1.1 (beta).
