PHP Magazine:
Latest PHP Barnstormer (#19)
Oct 14, 2004 @ 11:56:22

PHP Magazine has posted their latest issue of the PHPBarnstormer (Issue #19):

The latest edition of PHPBarnstormer points to the most comprehensive PHP book available online. Among other things, it also carries news on the new date set for the announcement of the Zend contest winners, Sandro Zic's presentation on PHP 5 Enterprise Edition (at OSCOM 4) and the spin-off discussion that followed, and some of the benchmarks that Sebastian Bergmann put together for different versions of PHP compiled with different compiler options. This Issue also reports the 'behavioral changes' in the latest releases of PHP 5, the PEAR coding standards poll, the need for a "MySQL API to cache SQL queries", and more. The package in focus this week is PHP_Compat, which was written to provide a compatibility layer for those who do not use the latest from PHP. This Issue also includes mention of what you can expect to read in the forthcoming Issues of the PHP Magazine (International Edition).
