New from PHP Magazine today is the latest issue of their PHPBarnstormer (Issue #18).

This week's PHPBarnstormer, Issue #18, carries news on the highlight PHP talks at the latest OSCOM conference. This Issue also tracks the latest PHP releases including Zend's PHP Enabler for Sun Java System Web Server and a patch implementing the strptime() function, explanations for the "Only variable references should be returned by reference" error message generated in PHP 5.0.2, the ongoing hacking on the Zend Engine, legalities behind transferring copyright, news that a PHP extension implementing an embedded Ruby interpreter is in the works and lots more.
