Pieces of Rakesh:
The Economics of XHTML
Sep 15, 2004 @ 12:14:18

Rakesh Pai has posted an interesting piece on The Economics of XHTML, which explains why websites would benefit from following the new standards-based school of web design.

In addition, Jakob Nielsen has posted an interesting piece on standard elements in web design. His recommendations include several conventions, like always placing a logo link to top-left corner and the search box to top-right corner.

This is defintely an interesting piece, filled with topics like: the cost of hosting, cost of development (from scratch), cost of upgrading a site, and cost of maintenance. Overall, there's plenty of reasons to go with XHTML for your business, even if it does cause a few more headaches...
