This week's latest PHPBarnstormer has been released by PHP Magazine.

Issue #14 of the PHPBarnstormer carries news from the PHP developer mailing list -- Serializing untrusted objects, spiralling crash, SQLite temp Directory, and new feature requests (with examples). News from the PEAR world also includes handy steps for including a package (getting it introduced as an official package) in PEAR. Issue #14 also has news from the PECL mailing list, and of course a summary of the latest PEAR and PECL packages released. The package in focus this week is PEAR::Benchmark, a simple tool that provides an environment to create benchmark tests and a very simple interface.

Some of of the PEAR/PECL packages released include: esmtp-0.3.0 (alpha), HTTP_Download-0.10.0 (beta), Image_Text-0.5.2beta1 (beta), and DB_Sqlite_Tools-0.1.0 (alpha).
