With this week's PHP Weekly Summary (only cough a few days late), Zend covers a lot of the discussion that went on this previous week.
One of the topics mentioned is the large debate sparked when someone uttered the word "namespaces" on the php-internals mailing list. As this discussion went on, it evolved into a question of whether "import" should become a reserved word. However, Zeev rained on the parade a bit by stating that namespaces in PHP would never happen - more because of conceptual issues than technical.
Other topics covered include:
- A question of why strptime (a locale-aware version of strftime) hadn't been implemented
- Controversy concerning cookies and their Max-Age
- Some issues with flex and compiling from CVS
- A large discussion on whether "method reloading" is a good idea in PHP
And much, much more is covered this week. The list here is just the tip of the iceberg, so go check out the rest of this week's summary...
