This week's latest PHPBarnstormer has been posted.
This week, there were several new things to talk about - everything from the new stable PHP 5 snapshots to some of the PEAR mailing list news. There's also a small update on the Zend PHP 5 Contest. Also, from the mailing list this week, several important topics were brought up, including: the status and question of need for namespaces in PHP, setting the Max-Age of a cookie, as well as the infamout GOTO discussion.
In PEAR news, several packages have calls for votes (such as File_formats::MP3_Playlist, RDF::RDF, RFC::Error Handling Guidelines for PHP 5 packages) as well as several that were released, including: Calendar-0.5.2 (beta), Pager-2.2.3 (stable), Services_Amazon-0.2.0 (beta), and Auth_HTTP-2.1.3rc1 (beta). PECL package releases pushed public this week include: apd-1.0 (stable), isis-1.0.3p3 (devel), and xattr-1.0 (stable).
The package in focus this week is the PEAR::DB package, pointing to some resources to learn more about it (and yes, there are tons out there).
