In a new posting from Dynamically Typed today, Harry talks about being Slashdoted again (first for the PHP Anthology - Volume 1, then again for Volume 2).
Lightning strikes twice. To save having to actually read the comments, just head to Neil Blender's summary [...] One post that's actually on topic is here - how does the PHP Anthology compare with George's Advanced PHP Programming? In general I'd say the Anthology is "Intermediate PHP Programming" rather than advanced. The styles of the books are distinct, the Anthology taking a Q&A approach aimed at solving common problems which Advanced PHP Programming is more narrative.
He continues on talking about several of the book subjects that haven't really been addressed in the PHP community - such as PHP application design/tactics or "elegant PHP archetectures".
