Here's a bit of an update on the last post, with more people throwing their 2 cents into the discussion on PHP vs. J2EE.

George gives a "Cranky, Snarky Answer" which is summed up with the following quote.

PHP doesn't magically scale 'naturally', but neither will planting a Java Bean in your backyard create a magic scalable beanstalk.

Johnlim thinks that High Performance, High Scalability PHP is a Lie but, then concurs that you can get PHP to scale but you have to be a "PHP Guru" to do so.
