In this week's PEAR/PECL News there was tons of discussion and activity on both the PEAR lists and the package votes/releases.

In package news, some new ones were proposed this week including HTML_Template_Savant, and a Gtk_ScrollingLabel package. Votes for this past week included the PHP::PHP_Beautifier, PHP::PHP_Modules (by Eric Gach of EvilWalrus.com), and a popular package - Text::Text_Highlighter. As far as releases, some of the highlights are a dev version of PHP_Beautifier-0.0.6, a new stable release of XML_Parser-1.2.0, as well as a beta for PHP_Compat-1.0.0RC2.

There was also tons of discussion this week, both on the QA side and the random things that came up during the week. On the QA List this week, some of the items discussed included: the unauthorized overhaul for HTML_Form and the results thereof, talk about the non-standard dev process of XML_HTMLSax-3.0.0 stable, another case of unauthorized patching of the HTTP_Upload package, and the removal of the Net_SmartIRC ambitions as it was a port of SmartIRC to PEAR.
