Another of the presentations from the International PHP Conference 2004 has been posted today on the talks.php.net location - Accelerating PHP Applications by Ilia Alshanetsky.
This presentation focused on many, many different ways to help you squeeze the most performance out of your scripts. Some of the suggestions included are:
- Compile an optimized version of PHP (avoid useless extensions)
- Remove symbols from object files using the strip utility
- Compile PHP statically into Apache (up to 20 percent speed increase)
- Optimize your PHP configuration directives
With several of these suggestions being so easy to add to your install process, there's no reason why you should't be able to quickly and easily speed up your PHP build.
Thanks to PHPKitchen.com for the pointer...
