In the latest PEAR/PECL Weekly News issue, there are several proposed packages that seem to have potential as well as a few new packages getting quite a few votes.
One of the main packages proposed this week was a RFC on filenames and directory structures. This would allow PEAR to have a standard interface between your scripts and it's "behind the scenes" action.
Also, this week, the following packages recieved their share of votesL File_Fstab (9), Net_TrackBack (10), System_Socket (6), and Net_IMInfo (1).
And, of course, there is all sorts of items that just don't fit anywhere else and end up under "Miscellanea" including: the rerouting of PEAR accounts requests to the pear-dev lists (they were clogging the others), a crusade from Alexey to find the "ghost packages" in PEAR (ones with entries in CVS, but not on the website), and a special request from Tobias of the list asking for public projects that actually make use of PEAR packages (with quite a few answers)...
