New from DotGeek.org this morning is an announcement about a widely participated in event previously - a new PHP Programming Marathon.

DotGeek.org is proud to announce the second PHP Programming Marathon to be held on the 24 April 2004. Instead of receiving the problems and composing your solutions offline, it all takes place online and within a specific timeframe. The Marathon is kindly sponsored by Zend Technologies and will now feature a problem on PHP 5. Participation is free of charge.

Looks like there are quite a few prizes for this event including: a copy of Zend Studio 3, a subscription to php|architect, as well as a quarterly subscription to Elance Basic. The problem is presented on their IRC channel, and you have twenty-four hours to complete your solution and submit a link back to your solution. So, keep an eye out on April twenty-fourth, and register today!
