There's quite a buzz surrounding a posting on the php-cvs mailing list made yesterday pertaining to the release date for PHP5.

Via circle.ch weblog - In a query that popped up on the PHP CVS Mailing List regarding the timeframe expected between RC1 and a final release, Andi Gutmans guesstimates a couple of months - around May 2004.

Well! the beta 3 release did spring up some unexpected surprises, but the fourth beta of PHP 5 that released on the 12th of Feb, is scheduled to be the last one. Looking at the improvements that have been made to beta 4, and the general PHP 5 buzz in the community, we think Andi's guesstimate for 'around May' is a good one. What do you think?

Now, while it's not "authoritative" as to the release date, it's enough to give hope to everyone that's been waiting patiently for this next amazing upgrade.
