In Zend's latest PHP weekly summary, there was quite a bit of talk going on on the lists about everything from the bcmath extension to the possibility of a release candidate for PHP 5.0.0 coming soon.
In this latest summary tells about several topics of the mailing list, including a proposal to enable the bcmath extension by default (to allow for more precise number manipulation), a patch that was submitted to add "HTTP digest authentication" to PHP5 was dismissed because of the uncertainty of its usefulness.
Also mentioned this week are a new SOAP extension that would be included in PHP 5 but not enabled by default. And, of course, there is the announcement about the possibility of a PHP 5.0.0 RC1 on the horizion. However, there are a few small issues to be discussed, such as enabling ext/soap by default. A definite date isn't set yet, but you can expect in the near future.
