From Zend for this week is their latest PHP Weekly Summary, including mentions of SimpleXML, 4.3.5 RC1, and Windows binaries.

There is some discussion at the moment that the SimpleXML extension needs to have a stricter specification as to its functionality so that it does not end up as a full-blown replacement for the DOM extension. A summary has been written up to help avoid this confusion. Also new this week was the release of PHP 4.3.5 RC1 to the world for testing. The sooner we test and find those bugs, the sooner it gets released!

Also mentioned this week are a set of compiled binaries for the PECL extensions for Windows. This is a great leap forward for all of those using Windows and need these extensions.
