The O'Reilly Network has posted the latest piece from John Coggeshall - MySQL Crash Course.
In this new article, John starts from the heart of it all with a "crash course" in SQL. For those of you who are familiar with relational databases such as MySQL, today's column may not be necessary for you; it contains no PHP code. Instead, I will introduce the concepts of relational databases and the language used to manipulate the data within them.
He goes on to talk about creating your database and tables, describing them to get their details, and inserting information into them with simple queries. He ends up with some simple select statements to round out the whole process.
