Over on PHPEverywhere this morning, there's a new posting about a tool that Zend has released a beta of this morning - the Zend/Win Enabler.
I've been advocating FastCGI as the most stable way to run PHP on Windows for a long time. Now I see Zend has decided to commercialize such a FastCGI solution.
This tool supposedly outperforms default PHP on Linux, while eliminating the inherent instability that has existed until today. The Zend/Win Enabler is supposed to make working with PHP seamless on Windows, Linux, etc. systems, and create a much more stable environment for your Windows applications. If you're wondering exactly how it all works, then check out their explaination complete with a simple diagram of the interface between the Enabler and your web server/applications.
I know this product is from Zend and all, but I wonder if this will really make things as stable as it claims - anyone for some benchmarks?
