One thing that I get tons of around here (either through email or just submissions) are product release information. I get updates on new software that's been published, and links to projects I've never even heard of before - but do show some promise.

What I wanted to ask from you all, my readers, is this: if it was offered, do you think an automated system allowing you to post product releases as you see fit would be a good thing to have around here? Granted, they probably wouldn't show up on the front page, but there would be a page entirely devoted to new releases and products.

The way I'd see it working is that each project would have a unique username/password in our system. Then, when the new release would come up, you would log in, go to the "Post New Release" link inside your user homepage, and it would be placed in a queue to be approved before finally being placed "out in the wild".

Before I started working on this section of the site, I wanted to get some feedback from everyone out there to see if it would even be used....
