In another related note this morning, John Coggeshall has a new posting talking about Microsoft and why they might care about Open Source.
Over the past year in the PHP / Open Source community I have been witness to an interesting change -- the increasing presence of Microsoft at open source events. It began for me when Microsoft flew myself (and a handful of other open source developers) out to Redmond for a weekend of .NET education and has grown to a Microsoft presence at OSCON and even this year's PHP-CON. With all of this recent activity it begs the question -- what does Microsoft want from us?
The posting continues on, talking about a possible answer - the integration of PHP/Perl with the .NET framework, as well as the seemingly dichotic feelings about the Open Source movement...
