In A Few Tips for Speeding Up PHP Code, the author give three pretty impressive ways to take your PHP code and give it that extra boost it needs. Suggestions like: "Filter Database Results" and some "Pattern Matching Metrics" can help you smooth out your code and speed up its execution. While most of his suggestions are good, there are a few that seem to be somewhat situation-oriented (they only really apply in certain situations).
This article has some pretty good tips to follow, but I wish it had been longer. Three tips just isn't long enough to really make a large improvement in a script, and if you don't use a database or regular expressions, you're a bit left out...
