Computer users don't care much about how a program is coded or how much work it took to get it on their desktop. Software developers, on the other hand, are under constant pressure to deliver on schedule, cost, and quality. They grab any tool that makes producing software faster, cheaper, and better. And, according to this review, Komodo fits the bill.

While it's not a free editor, Komodo does allow some pretty nifty stuff inside it's handy interface. It also includes integrated support for scripting languages like Perl, PHP, Python, Tcl, XSLT, as well as web standards like XML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. The actual application looks suspiciously familiar to the new Zend Studio 3.0 interface, with only some slight differences, but still seems to be a nice, solid editor - and only about $30 USD for a personal edition...

Thanks to the folks over at php|architect for the pointer on this one.
