To start everyone's week off right this morning, the always faithful Zend has posted their latest PHP Weekly Summary with a few neat happenings this past week.
One of these happenings includes the ability to disable functions based on virtual directory instead of it effecting things server-wide. Right now, though, there's no indication if it's going to be included. Another thing that upload junkies will be happy about is the introduction of the new version of the PHP upload meter. This allows you to show your users that their files are being posted, always a plus in our impatient society.
One last major happening last week was the introduction of PHP Audio, a set of two extensions that allow PHP to control the sound, as well as a wrapper to open a stream to an Ogg Vorbis application. Imagine the applications that this could open up for the PHP world...intgrated streaming audio, verbal input for web applications? The possibilities are limitless...
