Mozilla and PHP Play Nice

Heads up all you Mozilla users out there - there's a handy new tool that can help you create standalone, browser-based applications - without the need for a server!

MozPHP is a project that was started as an attempt to integrate PHP and Mozilla together into one powerful package. Currently, though, the access is only one-way. You can access the PHP internals through Mozilla (obviously), but you cannot get "inside" Mozilla with the PHP. They've built it so that it works with Mozilla 1.3.1 and 1.4 on Linuix and Windows, and, of course, PHP must be installed on the system for it to work. For more information, or to find out how to help out, check out the MozPHP homepage.

This is such a wonderful idea - I'm not sure why someone didn't pick it up sooner. I hope it keeps growing, maybe even into a custom mod of Mozilla that can be installed and controlled completely through the browser. Many thanks to PHPKitchen.com for the pointer...
