phpPatterns.com has a new article posted this morning on something you don't see very often in the PHP world - an article about the PHP Math Library Project.

This new post even includes a fractal image created entirely with PHP and this library. There are several different types of libraries and examples on the phpMath site including cryptographic functions, neural network functions, and the library that was used here, a fractal generating library.

Personally, I think it's wonderful that there are people out there that have worked up something like this, and are keeping it up to date. It adds much more power to a language that's already wonderfully popular, and makes it that much more enticing for people "on the outside".
