Over from Sterling Hughes' weblog this morning, there's a few comments about recient articles that you might find of interest.

The comments posted here deal with some of the MySQL issues that PHP currently faces, a better explaination of the try/catch functionality that will be in PHP 5, as well as an unfair PHP versus Perl comparison that was made over on Slashdot claiming that PHP matched Perl in string manipulation speed.

The MySQL issue, while one of the most controversial in the PHP world in a long time, seems to have died down some. I think the whole "initial shock" has died off and people are seeing it as more of a good thing than a hinderance to their code...
