New PHP Stats Posted

Thanks to the fine folks over at DynamicWebPages.de, we have some new stats to show off to the world about the usage of PHP on domains across the world.

These new stats show an amazing leap in the usage of PHP in the last few months, most probably due to the announcements made about the upcoming PHP 5 release, as well as the new PHP versions being released to the public. As far as the numbers, it looks like about 1,321,726 IP addreses out there currently have PHP installed, as well as over 13 million domain names that "tested positive" for PHP support. Granted, a lot of those domains are on shared hosting (hence the IP test as well), but that's still a pretty impressive number to show.

PHP growth is not going to stop, no matter what the "big powers" do to try and kill it off. The "it's easier so it's better" approach might work on the common computer users, but programmers are a different breed. They know a quality steed when they see it, and PHP will rise above the rest to take the lead.
