Over on PHPKitchen.com this morning there's a pointer to a few contests for those out there wanting to enhance their abilities and stretch their PHP knowledge.

The contests themselves, put on by php-editors.com provide two different kinds of challenges. One is a "personal money manager" that would help someone manage their money in multiple accounts and track their payments/interest/etc. This contest is intended for people with less than 6 months of PHP experience.

The second contest is a bit more involved, and requires you to, given the "traffic path" to follow, help a pizza guy (you) deliver your pies in a timely manner. This one requires that you take in a map.txt file with the path, read it, and make use of it to find the shortest path to your destination.

The deadline for both of these contests is Monday 18th August 2003 at 23.59 (GMT), and the prizes range from free hosting to a free copy of PHPEd. So, what are you waiting for? get to work!
