Zend:
A Big Week, Now in the Past
Jun 30, 2003 @ 11:58:57

New this morning from Zend is their latest PHP weekly summary covering this past (quite eventful) week.

Of course, this past week included the release of the PHP 5.0.0 Beta for PHP. Please note that it is still failing a couple of the tests in the QA test suite (as outlined in the release announcement) and is the first of many beta releases. Also this week, there's a mention of the Apache 2 support in PHP and the question of when is Apache 2 support not going to be experimental?. The Answer - "a little bit longer" stems from the need to understand PHP's relationship to every library it could link to.

Also, in some smaller notes, proposed fixes to preg_match_* functions as well as the bundling of the SQLlite extension (to replace the MySQL ones we "lost"?), and the possibility of a PHP 4.4 release just to "smooth things over" when the final of PHP5 comes out.
