Over on PHPEverywhere this morning, there's a new posting talking about a personal project that they took up - creating a new Windows installer for PHP.

The project (A href="http://php.weblogs.com/easywindows">already posted) allows anyone with one of the following web servers to install PHP quickly and easily: IIS or Apache 1.3/2.0 for Windows. It also installs other software, including: PEAR, ADOdb, FastCGI, Turck MMCache, and come complete with register_globals turned on. Of course, there are some testimonials on their site from users that have installed using this software, and a few tips on how to set up things like a database, and a production web server.

This tool looks great for those out there that just want to get up and running quickly and easily on a basic system, but might be a frustrating for the power users out there that need a bit more control. If you know what you're doing, you might want to still do it yourself, but, if you're a novice looking for an easy time, be sure not to miss this one!
