Chris Hartjes' Blog:
More Awesome Deployment Using Phing
May 03, 2010 @ 08:24:26

Chris Hartjes has a new post to his blog showing how he solved a deployment problem with the help of a customized Phing script.

"Hey Chris, can you set things up so that whenever someone runs one of those deployment scripts, we send an email to our support mailbox of all the files that were pushed up since the last deploy?" [...] So I stood in front of my whiteboard and proceeded to sketch out an idea of how I would want to do such a thing.

His script grabs the latest deployed version of the code (from a file in the release), checks out that code release and updates the file with the latest version deployed.
