So, you've come to this site, fresh off the truck, and looking to learn as much about PHP as possible. Well, look no further, because I think this new article from DevArticles just might be what you need.

In this latest piece, PHP for Dummies, they start with a few FAQ-type questions ("what is PHP?", "who wrote it", etc), and move into more reasons it's becoming one of the most widely used languages on the internet. This isn't something that's going to give much information other than an intro, I'm afraid. It's pretty much an intro only piece with no real code or examples of syntax to speak of.

It's good to see a pure intro piece now and then, but articles like this only serve their purpose for as long as it takes someone to read it. There's nothing to reference, really, so I can't see someone coming back over and over...
