New this morning from Zend.com, of course, if their latest PHP Weekly Summary for this past week.
This issue covers topics like "do comments really slow things down?" and "why is parsing XML from disk faster than parsing it from memory?". There's also mention of removing (deprecating)the "stdio" from the PHP 4 installs with a patch in the upcoming release. Streams are much more efficient and more "standard" for applications from here on out anyway.
Also, obviously, the latest release candidate for PHP 4.3.2 was released this past week, bringing us all one step closer to the next full version. Keep your eyes peeled for it - it can't be too far off!
