Over on phpPatterns.com this morning, there's a new piece for those out there into making interfaces and staying on the bleeding edge of things in the "browser wars" these days (though, it's less of a war, and more of a skirmish).
In XUL: rendering GUIs with PHP, the author shows you how, with a little PHP magic, some knowledge of XUL, and a copy of your favorite build of Mozilla. The result? Quick and easy menus that allow you to worry more about the look and feel of the menu, and less about how to build it in whatever language you're working in. There's even a element reference to help you get started.
It's a pretty cool technology, but I wish that it were supported by at least one other browser. Just being in Mozilla is nice (since it is one of the nicer ones out there), but for something like this to catch on, it needs to be more supported.
Thanks to Ewald for the pointer on this one...
