Over on PHP-Editors, a new PHP contest is brewing. Actually, there are two, one for novices and one for more advanced programmers.
The one for the novice PHP programmer is rather simple. You will be asked to script a personal diary, using only PHP and HTML. The diary must store notes and an address book.
The one for the more advanced PHP programmer is pretty interesting. You will be asked to sort many decks of jumbled cards back into order, using only three operations - Shuffle, Cut and Flip. Decks may have anything from 2-52 cards (even numbers only 2,4,10,20 etc...).
The prizes are pretty darn good as well. Zend, NuSphere, Macromedia, Wrox, ThinkGeek, vBulletin, and PHP | Architect are all providing prizes.
