Each month, the folks over at php|architect magazine post a new free sample article from their latest issue. Well, today they've posted the sample article for their March issue - Web-Free PHP: Using PHP's CLI Interpreter
The article, as the title says, focuses on the command line version of PHP, not engaging the web interface at all (no Apache, BadBlue, IIS, etc involved), and talks about the new improvements made with the new PHP 4.3.0's CLI interface. Of course, the article steps you through using a CLI PHP script, and how to set it all up on a Windows and unix-based system.
If you haven't yet taken a look at the quality behind this magazine, you should. They're one of the finest PHP publications out there (and, yes, there are others), and each issue is jammed-packed with around 60-70 pages of content. Check it out today!
