Alright, all you aspiring coders and gurus out there....when you came to PHP, what was one thing that struck you as odd about this little web scripting language that could? Was it the large amounts of people that have no idea what PHP is? (Is that some fancy new drug?) Or, was it the fact that, despite not having a large company behind it (yes, PHP has Zend, but they're no Microsoft), that it has come as far as it has?

So, more to the point, do you think that PHP needs someone like that? Would you want to see "our language" taken up by a large force out there and promotes right along with the big ones, like ASP or JSP? Does there need to be someone, maybe a group of someones, that work together, whose only job is to promote PHP and all it's delightful aspects?

If so, who would you like to see? And what do you think they'd need to do to get the job done?
